IGCSE History
The IGCSE History syllabus is a very broad one which covers the histories of a variety of topics. These include the developments of European nations in the last two centuries as well as many international events from the 19th and 20th centuries.
The syllabus is divided into two parts: Core Content and Depth Studies.
The Core Content is divided into two sections: Option A and Option B. Option A covers the 19th century as it relates to the development of the modern nation states from 1848 to 1914 and includes topics such as the 1848 Revolutions, Unification of Germany, Causes of the First World War, and the American Civil War. This website only covers Option A.
The Depth Studies is divided into eight separate options. However, IGCSE candidates are only required to study one of these. This part of the syllabus deals with the histories of various countries, including Germany, Israel, China and Russia. This website only covers Depth Study C.
